  • Extract pages → one PDF: use the per-file Page ranges field (e.g., 1-3,5). Leaves empty to include all pages.
  • Split every page: creates one PDF per page (downloaded as a ZIP).
  • Split by ranges: enter ranges in Global ranges (e.g., 1-3,7,9-11); each segment becomes its own PDF.
  • Split by N pages: choose a chunk size (e.g., 2 → every 2 pages make a file).

Split PDFs — extract or batch into multiple files

FAQ — PDF Split

How do I extract specific pages?

Add your PDF(s), choose Extract pages → one PDF, and in the card’s Page ranges field type something like 1-3,5. Then click Split & Download.

Can I split every page to individual PDFs?

Yes. Pick Split every page → many PDFs. The tool creates one PDF per page and downloads a ZIP.

How do I split by ranges?

Choose Split by ranges → many PDFs and enter ranges in Global ranges, e.g. 1-3,7,9-11. Each segment becomes its own PDF (downloaded as a ZIP).

How do I split by every N pages?

Select Split by N pages → many PDFs and set Pages per file (e.g., 2). You’ll get a ZIP with evenly chunked PDFs.

Page ranges syntax

Use 1-3,5 for pages 1–3 and 5. An open range like 7- means page 7 through the end.

Rotate before splitting

Click ↻ Rotate on a file to rotate all its pages in the output.

Does file order matter?

For Extract pages → one PDF, yes: drag items to set the order those pages appear in the final PDF. For modes that produce many PDFs, order affects file numbering.

Is it private?

Yes. Everything runs locally in your browser using pdf-lib. Your files never leave your device.

Why is the Split button disabled?

It enables once the library loads and you’ve added at least one PDF. If it stays disabled, reload the page and try again.
